Speakers
Title: "Deep Section: 1 / 10 -3"
Case Studies: Middle East Technical University Co-working & Cafeteria
Speaker: KEREM YAZGAN | Founder Partner Yazgan Design Architecture, Turkey
The unexplored depth of architecture and its dynamic relationship with environmental factors can be better understood by working on a system section. The drawing, which we refer to as a "Deep Section," aims to explore the future of architecture. The 'Minus scale' concept can give us an orientation and perspective for deepening our knowledge of architecture-nature relationships. In our presentation, we will discuss the potential of this drawing through the METU Co-Work project, using a knowledge-based architectural approach.

SPECIAL LECTURE
Title: "From Research to Completion"
Case Studies: Valley Amsterdam, Bastide Niel
Speaker: JAN KNIKKER | Partner MVRDV, The Netherlands
Two key projects where technical research has played a decisive role in their realisation.
Valley, Amsterdam – A mixed-use skyscraper in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district, named Best Skyscraper of 2023, and featured in National Geographic for its extraordinary construction process. The project benefited from MVRDV NEXT’s in-house scripting and computational design, enabling complex forms and sustainable strategies.
Bastide Niel, Bordeaux – A large-scale masterplan comprising 3,500 dwellings and 100,000m² of retail, services, and facilities. The entire project was designed using parametric architecture, ensuring the masterplan adapts to the flood-prone site while respecting geological conditions, UNESCO heritage regulations, biodiversity, and the ambition to recreate the qualities of historic Bordeaux in a contemporary way.

Title: "Are we building better buildings?"
Case Studies: The Cradle, Düsseldorf
SIRIN BUGRAHAN
Partner HPP International, Turkey
Our design and planning tools are rapidly evolving. We have much better control over the data leaving our offices. But does this translate to higher quality construction on site? How is our relationship with production? The Cradle, as a case study, is an experimental project in an aggressive market, challenging some of the missing links between design and application.

SPECIAL LECTURE
Title: "Innovation in Practice: The Impact of Technology on Design Collaboration"
Case Studies: China Merchants Bank HQ
Speaker: MARIOS TSILIAKOS | Partner Foster+Partners, UK
Computational Design today extends beyond the scope of architectural geometry. The lecture will provide an insight on how the Applied R+D team harnesses technology to streamline collaborative design for the AECO industry. He will highlight the vital role of said technologies in the design development of the China Merchants Bank HQ in Shenzhen, where a variety of processes were meticulously crafted to deliver a project of exceptionally high quality. Further explorations will emphasize the transformative influence of new technologies such as AI, illustrating how the Applied R+D sets new standards in architectural design and problem-solving.
16.45 - 17.10 Networking Break
SHARE X Main Debate 17.10 - 18.30
Title: "Contextual Transformations in Architecture
How are we going to move on?"
There are series of contextual transformations observed in different geographies but influential on global scale. Wars, disasters, pandemics, migration, introduction of AI, a post-truth culture, social media impact, as well as other technological developments and flexible accumulation of capital etc. Architecture directly or indirectly is open to multiple effects of these transformations both as a mode of production and as well as its critical ground. In this context vital questions are how are we going to move on? What will be the impact of these transformations on architecture?
