"Finding Balance Between Scale, Context and Social Sustainability"

BURIM BAJRKTARI

Founder modium.studio, Kosovo

In this lecture, Burim Bajraktari, Co-Founder and CEO of Modium Architecture, explores the intricate relationship between scale, context, and social sustainability in contemporary architectural practice. Drawing from the firm's extensive experience in Kosovo and beyond, Bajraktari highlights key projects that demonstrate how thoughtful design can balance large-scale structures with their surroundings, while fostering positive social impact. Through the examination of INSTABUILT, a modular housing factory, and Jeto n'Pisha, a transformative residential complex, the lecture illustrates how architecture can address not only functional needs but also contribute to community well-being and economic growth. By considering both the physical context and social implications of design, Modium's approach exemplifies how architecture can create sustainable, human-centered environments in rapidly developing urban landscapes.

STEFANO GRI

Co-Founder Geza Architects, Italy

A thorough understanding of the landscape is essential for developing large-scale projects that are both relevant and respectful of their surroundings. The selected projects as Furla Progetto Italia and Masterplan Lignano City of Sport demonstrate how large-scale interventions can enhance and add value to the territories in which they are built. The audience will explore large-scale projects ranging from industrial production complex and office buildings to urban development and regeneration masterplans. Concrete examples of tailored design solutions will be presented, with a strong focus on territorial integration and the relationship between architecture and the landscape. The lecture will address themes such as the relationship between landscape and industrial or workplace architecture, facade design, customized prefabrication, and the use of materials like concrete, glass, and steel. Urban planning, territorial regeneration, and landscape design will also be discussed, focusing on design choices and their impact on the built environment.

"Designing for Connectivity – Innovations for the Future of Urban Living"

TAKEHIKO ISEKI

This lecture explores two innovative urban living models that redefine connectivity and mixed-use development. By comparing horizontal walkability (Unicorn Island, Chengdu) with vertical integration (CityZen Tower, Georgia), the lecture highlights how innovative approach in urban design can enhance its quality of life by improving connectivity, mobility and sustainability.
